And the Lola goes to...

At the German Film Awards ceremony on 12 May 2023, the DFG-insured film "Das Lehrerzimmer" by Ilker Çatak was awarded the much-coveted Golden Lola in the category "Best Feature Film", beating the German record Oscar winner "Im Westen nichts Neues".

The drama about the young, motivated teacher Carla Nowak also won four more Lolas in the categories "Best Director", "Best Editing", "Best Screenplay" and "Best Actress". She gets caught between the fronts of the German school system when she tries to solve a series of thefts at her school on her own initiative, for which one of her students is falsely accused.

We warmly congratulate this success and can only echo the words of producer Ingo Fliess:

"Cinema is alive, but we have to let it be!"
