German Film Award: Plenty of Lolas for three DFG-insured films
The 69th award ceremony of the German Film Prize took place on 3 May 2019 in Berlin.
Hamburg, 8 May 2019 - 1900 guests met in the Palais am Funkturm to wait with excitement for who was allowed to take the "German Oscar" home with them.
Director Caroline Link was personally presented with the golden Lola for the film "Der Junge muss an die frische Luft" by Hape Kerkeling, which attracted the most visitors. In addition, the film received the bronze Lola in the category "Best Feature Film", and the highly pregnant Luise Heyer also received a golden Lola for the Best Female Supporting Role.
Fatih Akin's horror film “Der goldene Handschuh” about a Hamburg serial killer won the golden Lola for Best Mask Picture.
The team from "Gundermann" took home the golden Lola for the Best Feature Film, but here, too, the films insured by the DFG were properly cleared: The bronze Lola for "Der Junge muss an die frische Luft" and the silver for the deep-sea drama "Styx" about a sailor who meets a refugee boat. Susanne Wolff was honoured with the golden Lola for Best Actress, and the team received a golden Lola for Best Sound Design and a golden Lola for Best Camera/Picture Design.
