Silver Bear for Hamburg
The director Nora Fingscheidt from Hamburg was awarded the Silver Bear Alfred Bauer Prize at this year's Berlinale for her debut film Systemsprenger.
Hamburg, 22 February 2019 - Since 1987, the Alfred Bauer Prize has been awarded for a competition film that opens up new perspectives in film art. The main character is the nine-year-old Benni. All pedagogical systems are overwhelmed with the tender and energetic girl. She cannot subordinate herself, is aggressive and just wants to return to her mother. Ten-year-old Helena Zengel plays the leading role in the debut film produced by Weydemann Bros, Kineo Filmproduktion and Oma Inge Film in co-production with ZDF/Das kleine Fernsehspiel, which was insured by the DFG with a combined film policy.
In addition to Systemsprenger, the DFG also insured Fatih Akin's latest film, "Der goldene Handschuh", which was also screened in the Berlinale competition and will be shown in cinemas on 21 February 2019.
